Ashley Madekwe and Ashley Leggat
Madekwe comes from a mixed-race family from South London in England. She's English but her father was Nigerian. She was raised on a council estate south of London. When she was fourteen, she was enrolled at The Brit School. She was a student of acting in The Royal Academy of Dramatic Art, London. She was on stage in several productions as a student like the role of King Henry V, as Princess Katherine, and Wuthering Heights, as Catherine Earnshaw.
Madekwe began her career as an actor with the film Storm Damage. Since then, she has appeared as a guest on Teachers, Doctors, Casualty and Drop Dead Gorgeous. Madekwe's film debut was in Woody Allen's Cassandra's Dream (2007), opposite Colin Farrell. The film's success resulted in her being cast as Elisha in a one-off BBC Three drama West 10 LDN pilot, then appear in six episodes Trexx and Flipside in the role of Ollie. The year 2008 saw her was offered the part as Bambi on The ITV2 drama series Secret Diary of a Call Girl which aired in series two and three. Madekwe was the main character in 2008's comedy How to Alienate and Lose Friends. Her credits in theatre are Little Sweet Thing or Roy Williams as well as Flight Path of David Watson.
Madekwe's US debut was in 2009 with The dramatic The Beautiful Life. The series aired only two episodes before being cancelled on The CW. She was cast in February 2011 in the role of Ashley Davenport on the ABC drama Revenge. In late May 2013, it was announced that Madekwe who had appeared on the show as a series regular for the past two seasons, would be leaving the show after a guest-appearance in the premier episode of the new season. From 2014 until 2016she appeared in Salem on the CW as Tituba. In June 2012, Madekwe got married to her long-time partner, actor Iddo Goldberg. They've collaborated in the show Secret Diary of a Call Girl, and he is also a part of the cast on the show Salem.
Ashley Leggat was born in Hamilton, Ontario, into a large, extended family. Ashley Leggat was born to Roy and Patty along with her three older siblings - Brett, Todd and Bram as well as Rob. Ashley's family, which is all athletic, played baseball during the summer and played hockey in winters. Ashley could not walk but danced. In the end, when she turned 2 She discovered Baby Ballet. Ashley discovered a love for dancing after she started Baby Ballet. Ashley was a competitor in ballet, jazz and tap at the top divisions. Ashley took home the best soloist award at every major dance event, such as International Dance Challenge, Showstoppers, 56-7-8 Showtime, Flash Dance, Dance, Dance, Dance and many more, just to mention a few.
